Driving

Im doing a blog about driving because i LOVE driving.

I passed my test on 3/5/11 it was the best feeling ever! It was second time lucky for me. It was the scariest thing ever. Its so nerve racking and the tester guy doesn't help much. You try and have a conversation with them and they just go hmm and tell you instructions. When i passed i only got 6 minors, go me. My first test i got some thing like 12 minors and 2 serious, one of the serious was completely fair, i pulled up to close to a parked car. I could see him reaching for the steering wheel as i was pulling out, when i did it successfully i was like 'hell yeah, i rock!'
The second serious was i apparently drove on a pavement for half a mile! It was a load of bollocks! Me and my instructor, Allan, drove my test route and couldn't find where he meant. But then again there is a rumour thats been going round for ever that only a certain amount of people is allowed to pass per day. Which is kinda logical because you don't want to many cars on the road but on the other hand it really bad that they have to make up excuses why you have failed and make you feel like shit! Its nerve racking enough without the thought of 'do they want me to pass or not?' but i guess that makes it more exciting.

Now i drive its amazing! I love love love driving. Its the best thing i ever did, well so far. And the best bit is that we get to have KFC more than once a year when we are in town and its not that busy. Its great. Also i have been to bake well quite a few times and not been on a smelly bus for hours or in a car with kids! Its fabulous. Plus i get to go to my favourite place in Sheffield, Bradfield and not been on a bus. As you can tell i hate public transport now. Driving spoils you.

The down side to driving is the costs. My insurance is sky high because its the first year, cant wait till i get it renewed :) then you got your road tax to pay, petrol, mots and then you gotta pay for anything that goes wrong with the car. I had to get a new gearbox at the beginning of the year and that set me back £250. But Delilah is worth it, yes i have named my car, Delilah. Its a perfect fit because i have a Daewoo. Also i have Breakdown cover from the AA. It is worth every penny. They are amazing. If you don't have breakdown cover get it! Its great.

In conclusion, driving rocks and i recommend it to everyone! You can go anywhere, providing you have the petrol and funds for a road trip. Im still waiting for the road trip bit, I'm sure it will come.

Much love xx
